| Here’s
How Santa
Richard Makes Belts |
Shaping
1/8” flat brass is
shaped to the contour of Santa’s ‘Cookie Zone’ for perfect
fit.
|
Designing
Santa Richard’s
computer designs are downloaded into a computer-driven hydro cutting
machine.
|
Cutting
All buckle designs are
precisely cut using the multi-axis hydro cutting method.
|
Backstock
Santa Richard works all
year long to prepares lots of buckles and products for the Santa
season.
|
Backstock
To prepare for a busy
season, Santa Richard prepares
over 100 pieces, including brazing, so that he can have
sufficient stock for the busy season.
|
Grinding
Many hours are
required to bring a choice piece of brass up through the
manufacturing process, including brazing and lots of grinding.
|
Polishing
This is a six step
process with various grits of grinding and polishing to bring a drab
piece of brass all the way up into a mirror shine fit for
professional Santas.
|
Leather cutting
Santa Richard selects
the finest quality of 9-10 heavy-duty black Latigo leather and cuts
it to custom sizes for professional Santas.
These Santa belts are designed to last a lifetime.
|
Leather punching
12” of holes are
punched into each belt. Santa
Richard takes the ‘cookie zone’ measurement and punches 6” of
holes shorter, and 6” of holes longer than this so that Santa will
have lots of holes to accommodate expansion or contraction of his
shape.
